PATNA: CBSE class X results declared on Friday were received with a great deal of excitement and cheer by most of the students as the results this year are better than past years.
They had been waiting for the results with bated breath in various cyber cafes of the city since early in the morning.
Anxious students were seen making a beeline for cyber cafes most of which received as many as 200 to 300 students each.
The students who had fared well could not conceal their happiness.
"I am so happy that my hard work has finally paid," said Aditi Shankar of Notre Dame Academy who has got 91.2 per cent marks and is planning to move to Delhi for further studies.
Alok Kumar of DPS was, however, not so happy though he has received 84 per cent marks. "I wanted to get at least 90 per cent," he said.
Shyam Ratan, a Loyola student, said he was fearful about the result as the syllabus had been changed this time but was finally content after getting 90 per cent marks. Ratan has already enrolled himself in a coaching institute to prepare for engineering entrance exam.
The parents too shared the same anxiety and concern. An otherwise proud Nandlal was sad that his son got only 92 per cent because he had less marks in Hindi.
Similarly, Nasreen Azad, mother of Faizudeen, was sad as she felt her son could have got more marks than the 90 per cent he received if he would have fared a little better.
The overall results of the schools in Patna are better than previous years.
